Living in Oldsmar — A Neighborhood Guide
Oldsmar is a small, working-family city on the north shore of Old Tampa Bay, bridging
Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. It's one of the quieter, more affordable pockets
of the Tampa Bay Gulf Coast, without giving up proximity to beaches, hospitals and employers.

- Oldsmar Elementary and Countryside High School serve other age groups.
- Pinellas County Schools offers a district-wide gifted / magnet lottery for families looking beyond the zoned school.
- For higher education, St. Petersburg College has a Tarpon Springs campus 15 minutes away,
and the University of South Florida in Tampa is under 40 minutes.
Healthcare
- Mease Countryside Hospital (Safety Harbor) — full-service, ~10 minutes.
- Morton Plant Hospital (Clearwater) — ~20 minutes.
- Several urgent-care clinics and family practices in the Woodlands Square plaza.
Parks and outdoor life
- Oldsmar Sports Complex — ball fields, playground, walking loop (across the street).
- R.E. Olds Park — waterfront pier on Old Tampa Bay, dog park, concerts.
- Upper Tampa Bay Trail and Pinellas Trail — paved multi-use trails for biking/walking.
- Honeymoon Island State Park — ~25 minutes, one of Florida's top-rated Gulf beaches.
Everyday shopping & dining
- Woodlands Square and Forest Lakes Plaza for groceries (Publix, Sprouts).
- Westfield Countryside mall (Clearwater side) for department stores.
- Restaurants within 10 minutes: Carrabba's, Olive Garden, Bonefish Grill, Stonewood Grill,
plus local spots like Grille One Sixteen and Fuji Sushi.
Commute notes
For Tampa commuters, the fastest route is FL-580 (Tampa Rd) east to the Veterans Expressway —
roughly 25 minutes to the airport, 35 to downtown off-peak. Pinellas commuters use US-19 or
FL-584 (Curlew Rd) south toward Clearwater and St. Petersburg.
